How to catch the Alligator Gar
The Alligator Gar only comes out at dawn and dusk (5:00 to 8:00 and 17:00 to 20:00 on the in-game clock). The rest of the day it hides away and won't bite, so check the clock before you cast.
It's a level 4 catch (hard) with the Armored fighting style: green barely scratches it; hit the gold weak spot.
Roughly 1 in 500 fish that spawn in the pond is an Alligator Gar. Worms make fish bite sooner, and rarer fish go for them, so bring some for the hard ones.
Every catch also rolls a random name with a prefix and a suffix, and a rarity tier from Common up to Super Duper Mega Rare, so no two catches are quite the same.
